• Why did you want to work on a cruise ship? Did your expectations come true?
Frankly said, I had never thought of working on a cruise ship before, but since I couldn't get a job at home, I was looking for an opportunity to work abroad. It didn't take long before I got to the ship. I can't say whether my expectations came true, because I didn't know what to expect. Of course, the money was surprisingly good. But the work was reall hard so I feel I deserve the financial reward.
• Did the job on a cruise ship change anything for you?
First of all, I met a lot of interesting people and made a lot of new friendships. I also got plenty of new experience, saw many new countries, and got to know other cultures.
• What would you change on the cruise ship? What did you mind?
The first thing would probably be working hours. Although we had some time for ourselves each afternoon, it wasn't enough. Also we haven't had a single day off during 6 months. Other thing was language - people in higher positions could speak only English and w had to communicate in German, it was a bit chaotic sometimes, even the passengers complained from time to time. There were more such small things but I managed to carry on. If you really want something and you can adopt in a new surrounding, you don't think about the bad. You should always get the best of the moment.
• What are your plans to the future? Would you consider working on a cruise shi again?
I have many plans. Of course, I would like to work on a cruise ship again. It is very good money-wise and travel-wise, too. You can see a lot while working. I wouldn't be able to afford so much travelling without it.
• What is your message for other cruise job seekers?
You should try everything. If you have a chance, get a job on a cruise ship. Working on a cruise ship is interesting. Of course, beginnings are difficult, but you will get used to it. You will have a chance to meet people from different parts of world and discover their culture. You will see many countries and after you finish, you will remember mainly the good. There will be a lot to remember! I will never forget the places I saw and people I met. So I recommend everyone who feels they can do it, try it. It will be worth it.
