Martina: MS River Cloud II
• Did you like working on a cruise ship?
I like life on cruise ships very much. As all young people, I enjoy the company of other young people. I like changes, I like to experience new, unknown things. Of course, there are some negative sides of it - you need to work every day, often long hours and the job can be sometimes pretty annoying. Fortunatelly you always have great people around you and they can help you forget the downs of the job. Apart of that, you can see a lot of countries and things you would normaly never had a chance to experience.
• What did working on a cruise ship give you?
I don't really know. It was all very fascinating for me. Even the fact that we floated and were not on solid ground. We had a lot of opportunities to talk to the passangers and gain new experience. Also work can be fun sometimes, not just the hours off duties.
• What are your plans for the future?
I would definitely want to return to the cruise ship, even now. I just fell for it.
• What is your message for other cruise job seekers?
The job is really tough. Sometimes it seems endless. But on the other hand, you can meet people from all parts of world, spend some fun time with them, travel around the world, and earn quite a lot of money. Normally you wouldn't be able to experience that in your lifetime. It's really worth it!
